Kalkan and Kas
Kalkan is growing year on year. The resort centre lies next to its small marina which berths the many Gullet boats. These are hired daily for cruising around the local coastline.
This resort is made up mainly of small cobbled streets lined with interesting shops and resturants. Most of the resturants have rooftop dining and are very popular in the evenings.
The nearby resort of Kas is only 30 minutes drive. This has more main street shops than Kalkan but fewer resturants. Although defenately worth a visit.
Kalkan is well known for it's jazz music that you find playing in many resturants, sometimes live. Mainly the restort is quiet and unspoiled which makes it perfect for small families and couples wishing that relaxing holiday.
During the evenings between May and October, cars are banned from the resort centre. Parking availability is very good so you will not need to walk too far. Taxis are very popular too.
The price of food varies considerably. Make sure that you try different resturants to get an idea of what is available. All food is mouth watering no matter how much it costs. Most menus offer a full range of international and Turkish dishes. Generally, there is so much choice you will never go hungry.
Finally, the local people and resturant staff are so friendly they make you feel like you want to go back time and time again. You need to experience this for yourself to see exactly what we mean!
